How to clone my private git repo

I tried to clone my own git repo.
But it shows errors like following.

remote: Repository not found. fatal: repository 'https://github.com/------.git/' not found

Who can fix this error?
Or does this usually happen?
I have gone through the contents of the stackoverflow and github docs but I can't have a clear idea of this.
Plz explain in detail who are experience with this problem.
