Same issue for me on Nobara 39.

Same issue here for Bazzite, which is based on Fedora Atomic 40.
Error message is pretty much a duplicate of OP.

Edit: I see that for bazzite there is a separate issue, although it could be the same cause as log does not show significant differences: #406

As a temporary workaround (if you are using X11), you can get it to work by:

WINIT_UNIX_BACKEND=x11 ./linux_BoilR

Does not launch on Fedora 40 either. Same error.

Using the Flatpak version this error also happens on Arch, tested on various machines running GNOME on a Wayland session.
I managed to make it open by going on Flatseal and turning off the "Wayland windowing system" option.

BoilR is launching fine nowadays, been using on Arch and just tested on a fresh Fedora Silverblue 41 without any changes on Flatseal and it just works.
I think we can close the issue.
